Foaled in the Utah high Country, “Dex” came to us as a long yearling at the POA Intl. Sale. None of us were looking, or even considering buying yet another stallion, but it was love at first sight. We absolutely had to own him, and thankfully everything turned out perfectly. Our thanks to the Mike Gardner Family for raising this special POA, and for selling him to us.

The contending bidder for Dex, unknown at the time, was Rebecca Solberg from Wisconsin . She also thought he was a very nice, sweepy mover and super cute! This duo paired up to win the Intl. Futurity Res. Championships, in 2008, in Longe Line and Halter Stallions. As a 3 yr. old Dex basically stayed home and bred mares. As his 4 yr. old year loomed, we decided to get him back on the show circuit under saddle with Rebecca.

Dex and Rebecca had an amazing year! He had never had a saddle on until last year, and showed against much more seasoned show POAs, and he did a great job. They showed the POA world that size doesn’t always matter. Balance, quality of movement, and tractability matter. We are grateful to Rebecca for taking him on, and for doing such a great job. Thanks for giving him the opportunity to show the POA world he’s got what it takes to be a winner!

Dex is the 2010 POAC National High Point Medium Aged Stallion. He won the 2010 Intl. Futurity 3 & 4 Year Old Stallions in Des Moines . He was named Grand Champion Stallion at the Eastern Classic in Indiana, and the Western Classic in Colorado . At the Western Classic he also won JPFC 3 & 4 yr. old Western Pleasure. What a year!

Dex’s first foals arrived in 2010 and they exceeded all of our expectations. His foals all had color, charisma, great conformation, and superb balance. They also have excellent quality of movement. See some of his foals on the foals page .
